Here’s quite a useful resource on civil procedure in Spain from the International Finance Corporation that has a nice explanation in English of what happens when you file a claim in Spain: Enforcing contracts.

It is part of this interesting comparison of contract enforcement in different countries that compares judicial efficiency in terms of time, cost and number of procedures.
